Founder of Omar's Dream Foundation Jamila’s commitment to giving back to the community is exemplified by her founding of the Omar's Dream Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and technological advancements of students in the hospital that aren’t able to attend school. Allowing them access to their education and a way to connect to society helps them deal with any anxiety or depression which often arises during their treatment.

Board member of Wish4Life Foundation Jamila serves as a patient advocate and helps with corporate relations /consultant to Wish4Life foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to make curable cancers a reality in limited resourced nations. She is helping out on a project to create a sustainable International Children's Cancer Research Center in Ghana.
