Omar’s Dream Program helping to make a difference…

We are extremely thankful to the management of Round Table Pizza for holding an mini fundraiser to support the launch of 4th annual Omar’s Dream Run. Join us from 4PM – 8PM on August 18th.

Besides our fantastic hospital school, there’s another way we keep hospitalized patients connected to classrooms. Omar’s Dream Foundation (the late Omar Hassan pictured left) helps patients like Ashley (top right) connect directly to her teachers and classroom through technology. Founder Jamila Hassan works closely with Pam Simon (both lower right), of the Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Program to arrange these opportunities.  More on our blog>>>http://bit.ly/1NHLTdR

Remember when you were little, and the anxiety you felt missing school due to a long illness? Falling behind is sad reality for too many kids facing a long hospitalization, but now a solution is at hand. The VMC Foundation, on behalf of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, is partnering with Omar’s Dream Foundation to enable hospitalized and medically supervised children to remotely attend school allowing them to stay connected to their teachers and classmates.
